Uncertainties

The preparations for this Saturday's grassroots leaders' visit are rather crazy. I can't believe lengths they go and the amoung of effort put in by everyone, or rather, the amount of effort they'd like everyone to put in. Rehearsals for the mobile display, practising of speeches and even bringing in a "simulated" audience - all to ensure the event runs like clockwork. The GOH is only a Minister of State, so I can't imagine what things they'd do if Teo Chee Hean, or the President drops by. Tear down and rebuild Khatib Camp I suppose. Hmmm.

Really frustrating not being kept informed of what's going on around in camp these days. Some people just don't seem to care, or at least don't seem to be able to manage administration down here. We don't even know when we're able to clear our leave, if at all in the first place. And guard duty can fall on us anytime they please, or so I heard. It sucks, because for one thing, I can't plan anything in advance. Secondly, taking leave is an entitlement. Period.

I don't mind doing regimental guard, well, abeit grudgingly if it's on a weekend and absolutely necessary. But just let us know in advance please?

Nothing's for sure anymore, I've gotta learn to adapt to these changes fast or die. I'm sorry if I'm too pushy or seem to be taking up too much of your time. It's just that there're not many people to turn to. At least on a deeper level. Oh well. I hope you understand.
