Unprecedented
Given three whole off days this week. Really thank God for this unexpected break and for enabling me to put it to good use. Shopping on Tuesday, Camp for the other two days. Shiok.
Sure there were a few physical and emotional casualties, and there were some last minute pull-outs, but Odyssey was nothing short of a smashing success. Never in our history did we have such a large turnout. Never did we have such an overwhelming response to altar calls. And to think I was initially doubtful, even skeptical about the success of the camp. What little faith I have! Indeed there's just so much to learn, not only from the camp speaker, but from the younger youths and even Primary 5s like Marilyn and Natalie. =) Of the child-like faith they possess. Of their willingness to open up and reach out to others without fear. If only all of us older ones could do likewise huh.
Now that the camp is over and all good things have to come to an end, the real work begins. Of following up with those who responded positively to the messages and altar call. Of personally reviewing my own faith and earnestly seeking the right spiritual input from fellow brothers and sisters in Christ. Seekers' material, BS notes... you name it.
In the meantime, it's back to the real world. Meaning, an early book-in tomorrow night in preparation of Monday's EARLY 4 a.m. route march from Khatib to Amoy Quee. And to think I haven't packed my field pack yet. Wah lao. Sian.
