Victory
Today's headlines made my day.
Singapore and Malaysian leaders were polite and diplomatic as usual. Always neutral. Never emotional. No strong words. But I'm a private citizen, so I can afford to be nationalistic here when I say:
Pedra Branca is OURS.
I was afraid that if the other country won, we just might have to mobilise for the inevitable. But no one wants a war, and I'm glad that the ICJ made the right decision. Malaysia can have the rock outcrop that doesn't exist at high tide for all I care. There was no doubt about it. We deserved the victory. =)
In other local news, the WTO RTPC Closing Ceremony and Dinner was held at the Supreme Court on Thursday. Quite a cool and unusual venue, but hey, it was hosted by the Faculty of Law after all. Just that since the viewing gallery is only eight storeys high, you can't really get a good view of the city skyline and Boat Quay area. But the buffet was sumptous and the slide show went well. So thank God nonethess for such a unique job opportunity.
So now the participants have left, it's basically the cleaning up and other miscellaneous, random stuff that we need to do, before officially ending work on the 30th of this month. It's been more than three months - yet it seemed to past by so quickly. The holidays are almost here and I can't wait for Dubai, Malacca and Siem Reap.
It's time to relax at last. =)
We'll know the answer next week. And this caption has nothing to do with the picture above.
