Pasir Laba
12 days of block leave. Indulging in good food and fun. Meeting up with old and current friends. $350 poorer (liberal estimate). A new phase of National Service. $450/month allowance for 10 weeks of BSLC. Familiar faces. New faces. New commanders. New kind of training. Tougher kind of training. More welfare? Washing machines in camp? Oh my goodness. Really meh.
It's like BMT all over again, minus the above differences. Mixed feelings once again. Excited yet apprehensive. Can I take the training and tekan-ing? As OC Mohawk Company LTA Andrew Lee told us on the last day, we are physically "there", but still mentally weak. In this case, it's the flesh that's willing, but the spirit is weak. Haha, if you get what I mean. ;) And to think most of the KPC people are away in enjoying themselves in Malaysia from tomorrow till Thursday. Argh. Thankfully, Pasir Laba's pretty close to home and guess what? We'll get to come home next Saturday! That's provided nothing goes wrong of course. No one wants to be confined or given the "privilege" of doing guard duty on the first week of the course, I'm sure.
Let's just hope I'll get into a nice company with nice commanders. Like Golf Company. Haha.
