P is for Pee-Oh-Pee

Feels really weird to be sitting in front of my computer, at home on a Wednesday afternoon. No more reveille & lights out timings, 5BX, strength trainings, AGRs, SOCs, BCCTs, 60:120s, drills, route marches, parades etc. Well, for the next 12 days or so at least. ;) So much for the technical terms and abbreviations!

The Passing Out Parade for BMTC School 2 02/06 batch of recruits was held on a most "auspicious" (depending on how you look at it!) date - 060606. Imagine if you were like born at 6:06:06 am on the 6th of June 2006. Child of the Devil man I tell you. Hah. Anyway, the parade was executed remarkably well, even though most of them had no prior uniformed group drill background and the fact that we only had a few combined rehearsals. The weather was also pretty lenient on us, although we were drenched while waiting for the guests to arrive and during the first segment of the parade. Most thankfully, there wasn't any lightning and the rain even stopped when we re-entered for the second part of the event.

So... We're officially PRIVATES now (after only 8 weeks and 2 days! Instead of the usual 9 weeks), although 2LT Chong brought us down to Earth by reminding us that we're still 11 ranks below him. Still, the feeling of graduating is simply exhilarating, having moved out of the recruit stage and on to the next phase of our 1 year 8 month NS life.

Our postings'll be out next Friday, but until then, it's 12 days of much deserved rest! Not to mention, hanging out with some of the M4 guys and catch up with the KPC people, especially the Sec 3 group. And wait for the results of the teaching award interview. Oh well.
