Field Camp

7 days of intense non-stop activity and tekan-ning. Not counting the 3 days that preceeded the field camp.

On the bright side, we were only confined for 10 days, which by the way, will most probably be the longest period of time any of us will be confined for this fortunate batch of Mohawk recruits. We also got our long weekend! Manage to catch MI:3, which was not too bad I must say. More importantly, most of the camp was quite fun I must say. Some incidences will defintely stick for some time. Memories of marching in heavy rain. Of waterlogged campsites. Of sleeping under the stars and under cramped basha tents. Of fire and movement drills. Of unpalatable but necessary combat rations. Of DIGGING of shell scrapes and fire trenches. Of camoflague and mud on our faces 24/7. Of powder baths. Of our commanders "risking" their lives to rush us to shelter during the thunderstorm at our second campsite.

Still, thank God for His protection over us. Especially me. For healing my fever and cough and flu during the course of the camp. For watching over me while I was being warded in PTMC and for the speedy recuperation. For giving me the discipline to do quiet time every morning (back at company line that is). Really need the spiritual food to sustain me through such trying times, especially since the army's such a secular place.

One day, we'd all look back and talk and laugh over the memories of old. Of ties that bond. =) Over a cup of coffee at Starbucks. No wait. Spinelli. Free drinks courtesy of Marianne Lee. Hah.

Three weeks to go. Now that's really quite fast lah I must say.
