Run!

Finally! Blogger's up and running again!

Anyway, about the title, that's just what I did for the past week.

Tried out the actual route (minus the knolls) for the 3rd Singapore Division Tiger Trail on Tuesday. From Jurong Camp through to part of SAFTI (OCS Army Wing accomodation blocks), across the bridge connecting Pasir Laba with the former, all the way through LFA and finally to the end of Tuas near the Second Link. A cool 16 kilometres - way above my usual distance, in fact, the longest I've ever run so far. Walked most of the way though. Haha. I couldn't afford to strain myself, especially with IPPT on Thursday.

Speaking of which, my four static stations were alright, but I was a little disappointed at my 2.4 km timing. Was really hoping to break 9 minute barrier, but well, somehow I took a whole 29 seconds to run the last 100 to 150 metres I think. Somehow I just couldn't sprint to the finishing line. Very disappointing. But still, thank God that I managed a Gold and as Reynold reminded me, we're not in training school anymore and it's rather difficult to break records unless you're like doing 60:120 and AGR every other day. That being said, the twice a week running sessions should continue as always. =)

Friday offered no rest from running as we did another 4 km for in-camp battalion life run. It's not tiring in itself, but clocking a total of 20 km in one week's taking its toll on me, considering that I don't run so much that often and I'm getting old and I like giving excuses to mask the fact that I'm really just weak after all. Haha. But Sunday's run will still continue I think.

Tomorrow's gonna be another packed day, just like any other Saturday. NUS Geography Open House in the morning. I've no great love for Geography, but no hate for it either. Well, no harm taking a look and listening to what they have to offer. Maybe I'd have a clearer picture to deciding between NUS FASS and SMU SOSS (which incidentally sent me a letter of rejection from Law School in the form of a letter of acceptance from their Social Science School. Ingenious!). Then it'll be Faith Factor Fellowship Mentoring, followed by the usual Faith Factor and dinner... Yeah. Same old.

Gotta start scouting for good sneakers and well maybe a bag or something? I don't know. Been spending like a duke for the past month. Can't wait for the money from my IPPT endorsement, the GST credits from the government and the much anticipated pay-increase in July! Haha.

Standown on Monday. Finally. =)

Haven't seen one of these in a while huh. Old but ever still reliable. =)
