Getaway

Finally. A well-deserved, long and uninterrupted break. All the way till next Thursday night to be exact.

Anyway, some updates from the past week. Sunday's lunch with the Seventeens was alright I must say, even with the absence of Shuhui and Christian. At least we've now more or less explained and agreed on the need to split the group for practical reasons. Sad it is, but all's not lost. It's only going to be a temporary measure till they move up to the Young Adults in 2009. Now what's left is the final handover for the mentoring and care of three of the ladies to Roy and Joyce and the endorsement from Pastor Kuo Yung. As for Marianne Lee and myself, I guess it'll be a brand new start in the Young Adult Ministry next year.

Speaking of a brand new start, we've finally got a new place! Not exactly brand new, since it's already three to four years old, but the owner hasn't lived in it ever since buying it, so it's relatively untouched. After weeks and months of intensive house-hunting, what's left it scrapping what money we have to pay for the place (hopefully the sale of this current house will help to cover a large part of the cost), renovating it and shifting in by say, June next year? Say, that's like quite soon lah. And our new place'll be just across the road from Yao Qi man's Central Grove. Not only are we camp, active unit and reservist mates, but in the near future, neighbours as well. We could actually go for runs together man. Haha.

Speaking of running, we collected our SCSM 2007 race entry packs on Sunday. The running singlet's not bad really. I may consider buying one or two more running singlets from Adidas because of their design and quality, unlike the thin Army singlets that wear out in a few months. Besides the singlet, timing equipment and a few other freebies like the bags themselves, there wasn't much to wow about. The entry pack's basically an excuse for all the sponsers to dump their advertisements and fliers to market their wares and promote their services. Then again, what's new huh. Less than three days to M-day man! The intensive training's over (last one was a pathetic attempt at eighteen click at ECP, before the rain and lack of sleep spoilt our plans), and now's the time to rest and relax till the big event!

Speaking of rest and relaxation, we're gonna check in to NSRCC tomorrow! Resort life. =) Now that's the way to spend your leave man. Not gonng be doing much except maybe to clock five km on Friday afternoon and the Pre-Camp Brief and Games Day on Saturday. Yup. I can't wait. It's gonna be fun I tell you. =D

Okay, gotta rest early. Update in about three days' time, with many photographs I should think. Till then!
