Army Half Marathon
The 10 km fun run was quite fun after all I must say. The company of friends, the sights and the sounds, and pure adrenalin kept me going I guess, yes, even though it rained cats and dogs halfway through the run. Yep, it's my first time running such a long distance. And now my joints are all aching and cramping up because we didn't do any warm up before running. Goodness gracious me. And I think we'll probably have to run the race again for next year's Army Half. Oh well.
Anyhow, I left the Padang and my ex-platoon mates (whom I'd see for the last time in a long while, on such a large scale outing) earlier, met Yao Qi and went over to his place for a shower before rushing over to church. The Sec 3 group went over to Ben's place to celebrate the two Mariannes birthdays, after which Marianne Lee and I had a heart-to-heart, meet the parents' session with Uncle Wei Ming and Aunty Lay Kiow. Yup, it was our first time doing such a thing, so we were a bit tongue tied and slightly unsure of how to conduct the rather informal session. But it was quite productive I must say. Got some feedback and opinions. And concerns too. =) Oh yes, and who can forget the sinfully rich oreo cheesecake that Benjamin made for the birthday cake. Ah-hah. (See below photographs)
Gotta report to Khatib Camp EARLY tomorrow morning. Boring... Oh well. Anyone knows how to get there?
