Short Weekend
Yes the title says it all. COS Duty tomorrow. Had to beg and bargain and negotiate and haggle with Reynold and Samuel, before finally, abeit grudgingly accepting Reynold's last minute offer of him doing one Saturday COS, in exchange for one DI and two COS duties. Daylight robbery I'm telling you. But what to do. Faith Factor's on Saturdays!
Tuesday was sort of an IPPT Cat test for the new specs. Yes, even though I've already endorsed my IPPT results for the first year, although I'm not sure if the award money's in yet. You see, they wanted to see our fitness level, especially after a long period of inactivity and Christmas and New Year feasting (I bet our fitness will plunge even further after the CNY week). Not surprising, I couldn't run for nuts. Something like what, 9.50 minutes? Didn't even meet Gold timing. Wake-up call man. But I'm still too lazy to run on my own lah. Maybe I'll do that tomorrow during the long hours of doing nothing. Maybe. Then again, tomorrow never comes does it. Haha.
Our backpay finally got cashed into our accounts on Thursday. I think most of us received quite a handsome paycheck. Not sure how much I'm getting now though, after rank promotion and a rumoured salary increase across the board for all NSFs. Let's hope for the best shall we? =)
Come next Thursday, FATEP 1 Alpha will be our seniors' swansong. Magnum Opus. Or whatever you might call it. Their final burst of energy, spirit and dedication before they get their pink I/Cs back. Something that I'll only get to see and touch again sometime in February next year. Envy? You bet. Dread? Definitely. Especially for the few of them who'll be remaining in camp for the rest of January all the way to mid-February. They'd have to cover all our duties for most of that period. ALL of them. Haha. Most of the new specs'll be sweating it out in Crescendo or undergoing some ICCT course at Pasir Laba. Then when we come back, it'll be our turn to take back all the duties that we were supposed to have done. Oh no.
Speaking of which, the details of Battleking are finally out. Unfortunately, we won't be flying SIA, but instead Thai Airways, which isn't that bad an alternative lah actually. The really bad thing is, we'd be flying off in the wee hours of Sunday, 28th January. And we've gotta be at the airport by midnight between the 27th and 28th. And we're coming back in the wee hours on Tuesday morning, 13th February. On the bright side, we'd be off till after Chinese New Year - a cool 7 days, if all goes well and we don't have to report back to camp for whatever stupid reason you can think of.
Anyways, guess enough for now. See if I'd be able blog again tomorrow, if I'm bored and the mess is open. Hmmm.
