Hope

Something's wrong with Blogspot's image uploader. Can't seem to get any photographs up. And that includes my new pager for standby. Haha. Yup, it seems that they have a new brand of pagers every time.

Anyway, the posting results for the 02/07 NS intake are out. Quite happy for most of the guys I know. Yes, they long holidays have come to an end, but at least they've something to look forward to, a refreshing change from the sunny resort island of Pulau Tekong. Then again, I wonder how many of them would be able to sustain their enthusiasm or drive that all new recruits/privates have during and shortly after their BMT days.

Just like the new recruits that enlisted for 2SIR's mono-intake - we see and hear them singing and cheering as they go for their morning or afternoon runs pass 20SA. We were once like that you know. Yet fourteen months on I've just become so sian of army life. There's nothing much to look forward to anymore, other than the occasional off days and leaves that we take, and the occasionl outcamp runs. I've passed out from BMT, graduated from SISPEC's BSLC and AI's ASC, and yet, the euphoria died down as the months went by. Oh well. It's difficult to see how one can please and serve God in such a secular place as the army. Hmmm.

Bad news aside, today's Faith Factor group discussion left my feeling very much encouraged and showed me that there's still hope. The group may be small, but that can be a blessing in disguise, with the few opening up and sharing more than they would with more people around. And besides, something tells me that our strategy of meeting them up in pairs might just work out (God willing!). It's one way to get to know them better you know. =)

Youth Sunday's like next week? The announcement for the planning and delegation of duties was only made today. Kinda last minute, although I know many of them were busy with Missions Week earlier on. But still... Some plans were a bit messed up, but hey man may plan, but it's God who brings them to fruition yes? In the mean time, let's hope each of the subcommittees'd be able to live up to the task. Expecting guests and friends next Sunday!

Till then. =)
