The Last Week.

Considering the schedule ahead, I don't know if I'm gonna be blogging again anytime soon, for the rest of this week at least. I guess this should be the final entry for the year.

I normally wouldn't watch cartoons in cinema theatres, save for maybe The Simpsons or if there's really nothing else to watch - Garfield (Just ask the Sixteens. Haha). But well, that's what I did on Sunday afternoon. We had a choice between Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium and Aaron & the... sorry I mean, Alvin & The Chipmunks. I went with the latter, since after all, I was paying for the tickets first. Yes, the furry little things were cute indeed, but when you've got people reminding you of the fact every five minutes, it can get a little irritating. But of course, I only told them after the show. But it's true! They'd say. Well, there was a moral to the story though, why do you think it was rated PG?

Christmas Eve was a quiet one, compared to how the previous week was like. Went over to Koko Anne's place for a Pizza Hut dinner and some cable TV. Didn't go over to Cheryl's place in the end. Too late and staying over would mean little or no sleep - not very good for me. Had a headache from spending too much time typing on the computer and watching too much TV. Slept early for once, in the past week or so, after sending out the obligatory Christmas greetings and replying a few slightly past midnight. The lines were so jammed that, for a case in point, Godma only received my message this morning, some eighteen hours after I sent it. Haha.

The next day. 25th December. Christmas in three words - Christ is born! What a special day! That we now have hope and freedom from sin and eternal damnation. =) The sanctuary was packed, not only due to the combined service we had, but also the many "Secret Service" people who attended as well - those who only show up in church like maybe, once or twice a year, the other occasion being Easter or Watchnight Service. Congrats and a prayer of thanksgiving to those who were being confirmed - Benjamin, Tanya, Marianne Hui and David Kang! Big day for them indeed. =)

There was also the usual gift and card exchange. It was chaos I tell you. Everyone was running around looking for everyone else, having to make sure that they didn't miss out anyone. Haha. There were quite a few interesting presents, but to me, a simple card with a meaningful message is usually enough. If not, I always accept cash. Haha. Kidding lah.

Some of us stayed back to help Cheryl with the Thanksgiving decorations, but unfortunately, we didn't have the necessary materials. So we've gotta postpone it to Friday. Tight schedule, considering the event's on Saturday. Haven't had the time or inspiration to complete my testimony, if not I guess most of the other preparations have been done. This is indeed the final week. I really hope that there'll be enough food and sitting space for everyone. The response has been overwhelming!

Anyway, played some Wii with Melvin at Cheryl's place before we went over to the Casafina for the annual Christmas gathering. It seemed that there were fewer families this time round though. But nonetheless, it was the usual fun and games and food. We should really keep this "tradition" like every year or something. I bet there aren't many people who can say that they've grown up with such a group of families and friends since childhood. =) The next time we meet up for Chinese New Year, I'd have become a civilian once again!

Alright. I'd better get some rest. Stomach's been acting up lately. Must be too much food.

Really nice balloon sculptures. Taken on the Sunday before Christmas in the office. Where everyone was trying to fold as many paper flowers as they could.

As Justin puts it, breaking wind has taken a whole new meaning. =)

And then there's Ah Soon, who successfully made his first flower out of toilet paper.

Night: Even adults know how to have fun. =)
