SPCCC
My eyes are killing me. Couldn't really sleep the whole of last night. Plus I had to wake up early today. You know, once you're used to sleeping past two a.m. every night and waking up past 11 a.m., your body won't adjust instantaneously. Ya so.
Went down to SP with Edward to help Ron and his Crusaders in their annual freshman enrolment. Quite funny ah. Go there act poly student only ah. Haha no lah. Spent the first part of the day getting the Year 1s to fill in survey forms and contact details, and telling them more the activities and about Campus Crusade for Christ. After lunch break, some of us went down to share the the Good News to wandering freshmen who'd just finish doing their rounds around the various CCA booths. Sure, the after-lunch lethargy and lack of sleep took its toll. But what really encouraged me was the enthusiasm in which some of the crusaders had when sharing the gospel, and even Edward, a new believer of less than a year, put in his fair share! =) Many of the freshmen were also quite receptive and were even willing to spend up to half an hour listening to us talk from the little booklet. Thank God for opening the hearts and minds of those whom we approached! All Glory to Him Alone!
Oh and Daryl Tian's still deciding whether to appeal to AC. Ah well. We've been through this conversation say, nine hundred million times? Haha. Pray for God's guidance leh. He has placed all of us in whichever school for a reason. Even though it may not be a brand name school and where half the people are cina and the Principal's a suspected communist, we are to make it most of every opportunity to be a good witness and living testimony of our faith, no matter where we may be. =)
I'd like to end with a little note. It's a pity how ignorant some (note the lack of a sweeping statement) Science students can be, when they have this warped, narrow-minded thinking that Arts students are people who can't study and end up in Arts simply because they do not have anywhere to go. It's also very foolish thinking, when some Science students decide to try for FASS, simply because their results aren't good enough for the Faculty of Science or somewhere else. But I guess we're all forgetful sometimes, so for the benefit of these people, let me just say that the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences isn't a faculty for rejects. Woe unto you if you still think that way, for your mind is truly outdated. It's like saying computers were invented yesterday. So if you're a Science student and thinking of applying for FASS not because you truly have the passion and interest for the humanities and social sciences, please do not take up our rightful places in the esteemed faculty. Again, note the conspicuous absence of a generalised statment here. =) But if you do apply because of your personal zeal, we Arts students welcome you with wide open arms, and embrace you like our own (you know, like the Prodigal Son). No worries mates. ;)
