NSRCC

NEWSFLASH: They're gonna raise the legal age for driving to 21 by the end of the year I think. Twenty-One! My goodness. That's two whole years more for me! Two whole extra years having to take public transport... As if I'll be getting a car so soon like that. Ahahah. Joking about that part lah huh. All the more this gives me the motivation to finish learning driving by then. But serving the country comes first. Argh. Hopefully, there'd be enough time in between to take practical lessons and the riding test. Yup.

Went down to NSRCC about two days ago. I must say I'm quite impressed with the place. Although it does seem quite remote (15 minute shuttle bus ride from Tanah Merah), the facilities, the sense of 'exclusivity' and the bunglow itself makes up for the location. Unit 6 is rather strategically located, facing the sea and not very far away from the conveniences of the main clubhouse (where the bowling alleys, pool tables, lounge, billard room and video arcade are located), basketball court, street soccer court, playground and swimming pool. Although I haven't actually been inside the bungalow, an intial survey does reveal the spaciousness of the interior. Which is definitely a plus factor, given the possible need to accomodate guests during the Saturday peak period (well, that's when most of the people will be coming).

Also found out that I've got the place from Friday onwards (not Saturday as previously thought), all the way to Monday morning! Shiok right. Of course there'll be CBSI and service on Friday and Sunday respectively, but the bungalow will be left in good hands in my absence. =) I REALLY hope so man.

I know I sound like a country bumpkin. Haha. But it's true. I don't go to these kinda places often. Of course, being a member of a country club's really cool, you know with all the facilities and the sense of achievement one experiences on attaining one of the 5 Cs. But I guess it's rather expensive not really necessary, not unless you have the cash to throw around and the time to fully utilise such luxuries. As I always say, I'm just a simple boy with simple tastes. Haha. No really what. Then Shu Hui would be telling me something like, "what simple boy, simple-minded lah." Remember Tiramisu? Haha... Oh well, the good old days. Really thankful that Daddy could get the place for free, thanks to his colleague from ST Marine.

Anyway, the only strings attached to this seemingly perfect package is that the food won't be provided F.O.C, and the sports facilities aren't free either. We'll have to call in for our meals or have it potluck (you know, bring your own snacks or something), well unless you're willing to pay exorbitant rates at the in-house eating places. And the rents for the games and sports places aren't that cheap too. Well we could always provide free entertainment by bringing our own card/board games along. Hah. Oh well. Enjoyment is expensive huh.

But all in all, I'm sure this weekend'll be a fun one. The last one before 7 April.

Well, just for a sneak preview, Unit 6 looks something like that. Nice right. Yes
