Reconciliation
Okay, where should I start. Can't really remember every single detail of every single event that took place over the past few days. Your memory isn't very good when you've been awake for 40 hours straight.
Stayed over at the Changi NSRCC from Friday through to Sunday. The first day was pretty slow. It rained. D.J. brought two of his friends over. Had to leave shortly after for CBSI. Samuel and Edward came over after that. PS2 mania for the rest of the night. Ordered McDelivery for breakfast (yeah most of our meals were delivered to our doorstep. How nice. How expensive.), went to walk around the place and played pool. Picked up the 04A4 guys in the afternoon. The other "guests" arrived in successive from the late afternoon to evening. Yeah, Saturday was the main day lah you could say that. Most of them entertained themselves playing pool, bowling, basketball, soccer and watching cable TV. By late evening, the 04A4 people left, leaving the KPCian Youths behind. Ordered Canadian Pizza and KFC for dinner (unhealthy kia right). Played PS2, cards, bowled again and air hockey challenge. Stayed up the whole night as usual. McDelivery for Sunday's breakfast again. Went for service mostly zombie-fied. After ACM and lunch, went back to the bungalow to check out. We actually had the place till Monday, but since no one else was there and we were all shagged, we decided to pack up and go home. Well that wraps up the stay. All in all, I must say it was an enjoyable event lah. I mean, we had the fun and laughter and bonding. More conversation topics to talk about. Heh.
Oh and we didn't exceed the 90 units of free electricity that they allocated to us! Achievement achievement. Haha. And we were so worried that we'd chalk up some hefty bills man. So much so that on the first day, we tried to save electricity by not turning on the airconditioning and eating cup noodles in the dark. So poor thing for what right. We did waste the wine though. Had to throw away 1/4 bottle of it. =( But the vodka was completely emptied. Now we know our preference for drinks huh. ;)
Anyway, would like to thank D.J for manning the fort throughout the three-day stay. Yep, even though he had to endure the paiseh-ness of hanging around even though he didn't know that many of my ex-classmates and Youth people. For running some 5km to East Coast Park to get some snacks and drinks. For staying all by himself on Sunday to wait for my return. For cleaning up the warzone left behind. And the list goes on... Aiya enough praise already lah. Haha.
Less than 3 days to go. Only on Sunday did I realise how soon enlistment was. So fast for what right. Really need to make the most of the remaining time. And I guess today itself wasn't very fruitful or productive. Oh well. Somehow this particular verse came to mind:
"Endure hardship with us like a good soldier of Christ Jesus. No one serving as a soldier gets involved in civilian affairs - he wants to please his commanding officer." - 2 Timothy 3 to 4 (NIV)
In that sense, I've yet to settle some "civilian" affairs before enlisting. I guess I'd really need the energy and the right focus during trainings and camps and all that. If not life in camp would be a nightmare and dread. Things to do: People to catch up with. Outstanding issues to resolve. All I really hope for is for us to be reconciled with each other. To be able to be on talking terms again. It's been sometime. Three days to go...
