It's only been the first week of the year and already there're quite a number of things to do. Kick-starting the new YAM and setting up the initial administrative framework is proving to be quite an interesting challenge. The way the new ministry works differs quite a bit from what I did back in Faith Factor. So much for overseeing and delegating the work to others. Haha.
I'm still considering whether I should try staying in campus accommodation for say at least the first semester of the school term. The cost for a twin-sharing or even a single room seems quite reasonable, even with all the catering and electricity bills thrown in. The unseen costs of having to be super-active in hall activities however, have yet to be factored in. It's not even regular stuff like CCAs. It's doing things like staying up late for supper, playing tricks on others and things like that. Or so I've heard. Hardly my idea of being meaningfully involved, although I say it might be fun and it does help build networks of other kinds. And besides, I don't know how they allocate the rooms in the first place, but what I know is that if you've got the connections with the right people in the right places, getting a superior room in a prime location, and getting to keep it wouldn't be much of a problem. That's why I said it's still a possibility to try it out for a while first.
Really hope to get weight gainer or protein powder soon. GNC's having a 20% store wide discount in promotion with Citibank I think. Even if you can get definition from working out in the gym and going swimming, it wouldn't count much if there's no mass to build muscle. I'll end up losing more weight, considering how often I run. Which isn't very often these days, but still...
Prudential's Prulink Protection Account vs. NTUC's Living Policy. Decisions, decisions. I've already signed up for one of them but it seems that there's a cooling-off period for me to withdraw and get a refund of my deposit. I really need to get all the information with regards to PPA soon man.
So Cheryl'll be off to Shanghai tomorrow. Brave girl, to be there on her own, not on holiday but to help out at a missions home. Speaking of which, I really hope to be able to travel to a new country for my overseas break, before school starts. Australia's nice, but having been there three times, I don't mind visiting others destinations like Hong Kong, China, Taiwan, Japan, or venturing into less travelled places like Vietnam and even further out of Asia. Then again, there're the student exchange programmes in NUS! Spending a semester or two in places like... Europe! Travelling around the continent would be nice. I guess I'd be homesick though. If only money wasn't a problem... Haha.
Sometimes I really miss my trainee days. Not only were we relatively free from the responsibilities of leadership, but at least your colleagues and friends don't stab you in the back. Back in those days, we were united by a common desire and goal to graduate successfully and we suffered together. Now this has been reduced to what, complaining behind the backs of others, jockeying for influence and jealously viewing others who are seem to take more "breaks" than others. So much for office politics. Well, they can say what they want. It's going to be over soon. Just a little bit more.

I might even consider the North Pole. But I positively hate the cold. Then again, if money wasn't a problem... Haha.
